By definition, the floor is the channel that streams the active speaker. What you need to know on VoiceBoxer is that:
- The active speaker always speaks on the floor, regardless their language selection
- Each language channel will stream the floor until the interpretation booths are engaged in a target language
- The assignment of a language to the floor is based on the interpreters selection of a target language and it works by exclusion. As an example, in a English-French-Spanish event, when the English-French interpreter targets French and the English-Spanish interpreter targets Spanish, then the platform knows that the floor must be English (ie. the language that is not being fed by an interpreter)
- If you listen to the floor, you can still use the chat translation functionality. The translation will work towards the language that has been identified as floor language
